Sitting in the hills of South Glastonbury, Connecticut is Rose’s Berry Farm – a 100 acre farm featuring a variety of vegetables, berries, pumpkins, apples, and come winter, Christmas trees! During the warmer months, the farm hosts breakfast on Sundays (8am – 1pm) and features their fresh produce. I took Rob for Father’s Day and we indulged on pancakes with fresh strawberries, whipped cream and homemade quiche. It was sooo so delicious! The venue sits on top of a large hill overlooking the plants which makes the experience that much more special. After our first time visiting for breakfast, we unanimously agreed we will be making a trip back before the summer is up! It’s first come first serve, so get there early!
On the farm, there is a large pond lined with adirondack chairs. We took Elle to play on the playground and watch the fish while we waited for breakfast. During the fall, the farm has pick-your-own berries, apples, and pumpkins. Rose’s has a farmstand at two locations in Glastonbury and a store that sells homemade items like jams, salsas, salad dressings, and baked goods. There are also fresh flowers, a variety of veggies, and other speciality items made by local CT artisans. They really do it all! One way to experience the farm is to attend one of their farm dinners featuring local chefs. I plan to round up some of my favorite farm dinners in the area and will definitely be adding this one to the list!
